What is Elia?
Elia is a tribute to the soul of food and the people who make it meaningful. Rooted in humility and driven by passion, Elia was born from a desire to honour tradition while embracing the possibilities of modern cooking. Our mission is simple: to bring beautifully crafted, soul-satisfying food to your table, wherever your event may be.
The name Elia means olive, a symbol steeped in meaning. The olive represents resilience, community, and the quiet strength of the working class. It calls to mind farmers with soil on their hands and generations sustained by one humble fruit. To us, the olive is more than food. It’s a way of life. It’s about making the most of what you have, and doing it with care, honesty, and purpose.
At Elia, we draw inspiration from those roots. We lean into the utilitarian beginnings of food: born from necessity, made with intention, and passed down through time. But we refine it through thoughtful technique, precision, and creativity. The result is something familiar, yet elevated. Rustic dishes with a touch of elegance. Flavours you know, presented in a way you’ve never quite experienced before.
Whether you're hosting an intimate gathering or a large celebration, Elia brings food that comforts, surprises, and connects. Food that feels like home, just with a little extra magic.
How do we operate?
Elia is a small, independent startup with a big commitment: delivering high-quality, restaurant-calibre food at a price that makes sense. We're not a full-service catering company with tuxedoed waitstaff or elaborate tableware, and that’s by design. We focus on what truly matters: honest, beautifully made food that speaks for itself.
Our chef-owner brings over a decade of experience working with high-end food in restaurants across Ontario, applying fine-dining techniques to create food that feels elevated yet familiar. We want to eliminate the frills around high-end cuisine and bring real, great food to real people.
At Elia, we keep things simple: exceptional food, made from scratch, brought straight to your event.
